CiviCRM 4.2.2 installation quit working in WordPress 3.5
January 19, 2013, 08:48:06 pm
I installed CiviCRM 4.2.2 on a WordPress 3.4 multisite that I run on a XAMPP localhost.
The site was working fine.
I updated the WordPress installation to version 3.5  and that was successful.

The I a day or two later, I went to the dashboard for the site with civiCRM and clicked on the button on the left side panel...
I get the following error message:
Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 268435456 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 261904 bytes) in F:\xampp\htdocs\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\civicrm\civicrm\CRM\Utils\File.php on line 116

Nothing having anything to do with the civiCRM plugin seems to work at all.  The rest of the WordPress site seems unaffected.

I checked the php.ini file and increased the memory but it did not resolve the issue.
I have a backup of my phpMyAdmin database, but I don't know how I and get around this problem.

Does anyone have any ideas?
Is there anyway that I can salvage the data already stored in the database and move them to an new installation?
Thank you for any help or advice you can offer.

You could certainly try to migrate your data to a fresh install as per http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC42/Moving+an+Existing+Installation+to+a+New+Server+or+Location
