Any Downgrade instructions ?
January 20, 2013, 08:18:29 am
Hi All,
After recently upgrading from 4.0.2 to 4.2 we are now finding a issue with our event registrations where the payment block is not being displayed (posted in other forums).  With event registration looming, it may be necessary for us to roll back to the 4.0.x code base and look at the payment block issue after the event is over. So... are there any instructions on how to downgrade CiviCRM without loosing membership data?

I know it is odd request, but I appreciate any help offered.

Patrick

Hello. There is no downgrade path for CiviCRM. You could in theory create one by reversing all the SQL in the updater code, but I doubt that's actually possible.

Is there anyway to tell what version of CiviCRM was being used from a mysql dump?  Looks like our only recourse is to rebuild a new server with Civi4.0 and import an older backup/dump file and start over.

The version is stored in the civicrm_domain table. Usually there's just one record there, so take a look.

Thank you! that helped me find the right db backup to rebuild our site with 4.0.8.  Now, I just gun shy of upgrading once we get fully recovered.
