PCPs and Joomla menus
January 20, 2013, 12:51:22 pm
Hi
I have a problem with the create a PCP page Joomla Menu item and other Joomla/PCP menu items. I can reproduce this on a clean install, but can't test on the CiviCRM demo sites as I don't think they let you alter the Joomla menu.

I set up a clean Joomla 2.5.8 install, and did a clean Civi 2.4.7 (with UK localisation) on that. There is nothing else on this and I have not altered default permissions..
I created a campaign page and enabled PCPs.
I created a "Create a PCP" main menu link - and all I get is the CRM-001 error (both for Guests and the Superuser).
I created a Dashboard link, and (for a logged in Superuser) that does allow you to create a PCP.
I created a View Contribution Page link which works fine for both a guest and a logged in Super user.
I then created a PCP view link, which works fine, for the logged in Superuser. For a Guest user you get the CRM-001 error.

Am I missing something obvious or is this a bug? http://c2.marlowrowingclub.org.uk/ if looking helps.

Looks like this same issue you posted before http://forum.civicrm.org/index.php?topic=27334.0

I think you could open an Issue using the link at the top of this page. I'm not certain it's a bug, but anyhow I don't know how it's supposed to work.

@EdP -- it helps to switch on debug. You may have a sync issue between J users and Civi, or there is a small problem in the config, like the PCP needs to be active and completely configured. If you want me to take a look in the backend, let me know.

Please do. It's only a test site so I'll DM you the login.

Brian

Thank you. This certainly seems to fix the problem with creating your own PCP.

For viewing an existing PCP still seems to have a problem. I can create a "View PCP" link, but get a CRM-001 error if not logged in (with a "You do not have permission to see that page" note). If logged in as a superuser, it shows me the (backend) Contributions dashboard (i.e. I'm peering into the backend via frontend page).

In a test site, even when not logged in I seem to be looking at some backend stuff! (May be cache?) http://c2.marlowrowingclub.org.uk/index.php?option=com_civicrm&view=Contributions&layout=pcpinfo&Itemid=114#chart_layout

Thanks
Ed

Brian, thanks. Now both issues within this seem fixed. However, the pages are not displaying the Honour Roll or Money Raised thermometer. Is this another broken path in the template - e.g. see this one where there are donations that should show: http://www.marlowrowingclub.org.uk/fire-fund/jy
