4.1.3 to 4.2.7 drup6 fails
January 23, 2013, 01:40:11 am
Went catatonic about 5 minutes in.  Upgrade screen showed:

[Executed: Upgrade DB to 4.2.beta2]

checked log, found:
[Tue Jan 22 23:58:21 2013] [error] [client 173.228.85.212] PHP Notice:  Undefined index: CRM_Upgrade in /home/ccmcweb/yesfairelections.org/htdocs/contacts/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Queue/Service.php on line 117, referer: http://www.yesfairelections.org/contacts/civicrm/upgrade/queue/runner?reset=1&qrid=CRM_Upgrade

Let it "run" for another 40 minutes, cancelled, restored db & cividir.  Civi won't come up!  What's left?  civicrm.settings.php, of course.  It was full of ^M.  Restored from backup & I'm back where I started.

Hmmm, sounds odd. You never need to wait more than a few minutes. If it stops running for 5 minutes, that means it's dead.

I do not know. I would try again and see if the same happens...

I'm not sure. All I could suggest is consider running the upgrade on another server.
