Hello Forum,

I have been active in the forums for only a short time, but as of right now I am not certain what my continued role will be. I developed 60 tutorial videos for a man named Penn White, who was fascinated by CiviCRM and made it his business to help people learn how to use this software. He posted several questions on the forum, and looked forward to the fruition of his goal, which was to offer these tutorials (albeit for a price) through the company that he started CiviTrainingTutorials.

Penn White passed away last night, at the ripe old age of 79. I am not sure what will become of CiviTrainingTutorials, and it's collection of Civi v4.x based tutorials, I will know more in the next few days. Hershel, I would like to thank you, in particular, on his behalf for all of the help you gave him. I am sure that it was most appreciated. He spoke highly of you and often wondered aloud how you would handle certain issues.

I have changed my major from networking to programming, partly in his honor, in order to possibly help Civi more in the future. As to the time being, I will attempt to look in and see if I can actually help on occasion, but I am not certain where the winds of fate may carry me.

Sorry to hear about the passing away of Penn White. Thank you for letting us know. We had some good interactions with him on the forum and he was always honest with what he wanted to do

Jason, thank you for your post and your kind words.

I'm sure the entire CiviCRM community, along with me, will be saddened to hear of this loss. Penn's communications and enthusiasm certainly belied his age.

May he rest in peace.

Condolences to you and Penn's family.  I hope you will continue to be active within the CiviCRM community. You have always been very supportive and your participation has often helped me resolve my own questions.
