Question on how to
January 31, 2013, 03:21:20 am
Hi there,

I am pretty new to CiviCRM and have a few questions relating to CiviContribute. I have spent some time working through the different options. So far we set up a donation page for overall organisation (which is not yet working 100% but that is a different topic).

The organisation setup is as follows:
- 1 umbrella organisation that includes 16 sub-organisations. The general donation page has a new multi-select which enables a person to donate to any of the 16 organisations (this is not connected to any contact in the backend yet).
- Each of these organisations can have individual projects

Is it now possible to:
1. Setup Contacts (1 contact = 1 organisation) in Civi that one can choose to contribute to on the general donation page?
2. Is it possible to setup a campaign in such a way that it reflects the projects per organisation (1 campaign = 1 project)?
3. If not, it is possible to pre-select to which of these organisations the donation will go to (e.g. through a button link, or something)

Sorry for asking this here, the documentation is not helping me much on these questions (as far as I have seen).

Any help will be welcome.

I think http://book.civicrm.org/user/current/contributions/personal-campaign-pages/ may answer all of your questions.

Hi Hershel,

Thanks for your response. I also looked at that. Is there a way to create such a page on behalf of someone? So far I can see is that you only get that option after you donated to the main page. As an Admin i have no option to create such a page from the backend.

If the individual organisations would have to do that every time themselves that would create quite some hazzle (especially when they have to contribute first ;-)).

Greetings,
Thomas

The page I sent says:

Quote
If the individual forgets to click the link upon donation, or you wish to give all visitors the opportunity to create a PCP without the prerequisite of donating or registering themselves, you can give your constituents a direct link. This link could be emailed to the constituent, embedded in a page or added as a menu item.

So they don't need to contribution and via the direct link, you could just do it yourself. Perhaps you would need to NOT be logged into WordPress, but anyhow it seems you could do it. I have never tried this, but perhaps you could and let us know if it works. :)

Thanks. I will try this with the menu item and give feedback.

And indeed, one must be logged out ... I was wondering the whole time why this PCP button always appeared  ;D
