We are several organisations that work with an overlapping client base although each of us deliver separate services and need to record different data.

Is it possible to sync the common data between different civi installs? e.g. Contact information - names, address, phones, emails, some activity records?

Would it be possible to sync civi with other sql based CRM's? Can this be done across different servers?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the links. I'd come across multi-site before but thought it only suitable for parent-chapter type relationships. Hadn't heard of the other options.
