ERROR: Invalid username and/or password
February 08, 2013, 01:46:09 pm
Hi.

I have just installed CiviCRM on a Joomla platform.  I have setup the CRON job as follows:

wget -O - -q -t 1 "http://{domain removed}/administrator/components/com_civicrm/civicrm/bin/cron.php?name={name removed}&pass={password removed}&key={key removed}"

When the CRON is executed, OR when I enter the URL manually, I am receiving the following error:

ERROR: Invalid username and/or password

The Username and password contains no strange characters, only A-Z, 1-9.  The site key has been copied-and-pasted from the config file

I have gone back to the CRON job, cut-and-pasted the user name and password back into joomla, so I am 100% confident that the user name and password are correct.

I am at a loss here.  Any advice greatfully received.

Thank you.

If you have php skills, might be easiest to debug the code here:

CRM/Utils/System/Joomla.php, function authenticate
