Profiles in CiviEvent

I created several Profiles to be used in CiviEvent.  But when I go to add these profiles in CiviEvent Online Registration setup page, they are not listed.  When I go to the Admin page to edit the Profile, CiviEvent is not listed, and I can't determine how to add CiviEvent to a Profile "Used for" area.  How do I add CiviEvent to the Used For section, so that the profile is available in the drop-down on the CiviEvent online reg page?  Thank you in advance!

It should "used for" Registrations.

make sure the profiles are valid only for Contact, Individuals and Participants

Civi cannot deal with mixed profiles (i.e. u cannot add fields from objects other than the above for civievent profiles)
