Edit in place

This is from testing an upgrade of a copy of our production DB to 4.3a1.  The upgrade process was flawless, and everything looks ok so far, except for one thing.

While editing a contact, I tried out the new "edit in place" functionality.  I clicked "Edit communication preferences", made no changes, and then clicked Save.  An error box appeared: "Please correct the following errors in the form fields below: This record was modified by another user!" The buttons "Save Anyway" and "Reload Page" do nothing, and the error stays on the page until I click the "X" to close the box.

Tried again, edited other fields, but could not reproduce this error.  This is on a laptop, so there are no other users.

Thanks for helping out with testing. See if you can create some steps to reproduce. It sounds like your first step was logging in - so try starting there.
Try asking your question on the new CiviCRM help site.

Agree with coleman that some more steps to reproduce would be helpful -- esp. if they work on http://sandbox.drupal.civicrm.org/ . Some random thoughts:

 * The browser might make a difference (e.g. maybe it works in Firefox or Chrome but not IE). You can try another browser and maybe post details about yours (e.g. "Firefox 17 for Windows")
 * If your web browser has a "Javascript console", that could be displaying additional error messages. Open the console and then try to reproduce the problem -- see if any errors appear. (To open a console in Firefox, try going to "Tools => Web Developer => Web Console" or "tools => Web Developer => Firebug => Open Firebug".)
 * Clearing the caches in Civi or the CMS might make a difference (e.g. navigate to "http://example.com/civicrm/clearcache" or "http://example.com/admin/config/development/performance")

For more instructions on using the "Javascript console" to look for additional error messages, try: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/JIRAKB/Troubleshooting+problems+in+the+browser

Ok I spent 90 minutes on it and could not catch it in the act again. The only error in the JS console was from drupal-for-facebook complaining that I am not at the right URL - which is correct.  I disabled D4F.   I am going to assume something odd was cached from the production site that caused it to burp.

Thanks.
