Profile snippet not behaving
February 12, 2013, 09:34:57 pm
I'm trying to use the profile snippet on a page as a contact form; I am using the Contacts Note(s) field for the user to input their message.  When I save the form I am sent to my home page, not the redirected URL I specified, I do not receive notification that a profile was submitted and the contact is not created, so it is not working (it works for others I understand).  (I tried using the Event Registration to achieve my needs in a hokey way, which worked, BUT the profile always contained my first message sent even after I sent multiple messages - although they were logged  correctly in the contact record - and my user probably thinks they're registering for something based on the standard messages.)

It works fine in the event registration (other than the notification emails contain the first note/message and I said create duplicate contact and it recognizes the email and puts the note in the original contact but that's another topic!).  It's in the Standalone mode that it doesn't work for me (although it works for others I know).  Someone identified I needed to make my home page static, which I did, and it worked once, and then went back to the same behavior of sending me to my home page with no notification or new/updated contact.

OK - now I feel stupd.  I changed my home page and everything is working as advertised!! (New contact every time with correct message).   Obviously there is something with my home page that Civi doesn't like!

I'm rebuilding my home page piece by piece to see what was breaking the Civi profile.  Is there a way to get the Standalone profile to send the user submitting it as the notification email also, like a receipt?
