Installation Problem
February 21, 2013, 05:06:31 pm
I tried to install CIVI CRM for the first time on Wordpress 3.5.1. After installing it ran me through the configuration steps.

1. Company Name
2. Email
3. Configure Dashboard

- When I click the configure dashboard button, nothing happens. There is a little thing that flashes saying javascript:addDashlet();

I have tried in Firefox, IE and Chrome and on two computers. I also did a clean install of CiviCRM and it did the same thing. Any help out there?

Do you have a custom theme for WordPress? Sounds like a JS conflict.

Can you use Firebug for Firefox and look at the Console tab when this happens and look for an error message there?

I am using a custom theme and not one of the two main wordpress themes.

I haven't used Firebug before and didn't see any errors, but I also am not exactly sure what I was supposed to do. Looking at the code, this is the specific code feferring to the Configure Your Dashboard button:

<div class="crm-submit-buttons">
<a class="button show-add" href="javascript:addDashlet( );">
<span>
<div class="icon settings-icon"></div>
Configure Your Dashboard
</span>
</a>
<a class="button show-done" href="/wp-admin/admin.php?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/dashboard&reset=1" style="display:none;">
<a class="button show-refresh" href="/wp-admin/admin.php?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/dashboard&reset=1&resetCache=1" style="float:right;">
</div>

I would first switch to one of the WP default themes and get it working before switching to your custom theme

I am getting the same error on a brand new Wordpress Installation.

According to Firebug the error is "cj is not defined" on line 602 of /wp-admin/admin.php?page=CiviCRM

Hope this helps

You get that on all pages? Do you have any other modules or themes activated on WP?

The error is on the first Setup page, so I can´t configure the Dashboard and go on.

No other Plugins are activated and the Themes are default.
