so all the civi stuff works fine - ie anon fills in form, record is created with 1 Contribution and 1 Membership both set to 'Pending pay later'
Completing the contribution via Contribution Tab or Membership results in Membership being set to 'new' and showing on the Tab

So this discussion is now about how 'wp user account creation' is impacting on this form

with your instance resulting in something failing

but demo instance resulting in 'account creation' not displaying on form at all??
