Batch update of "Master Address Belongs to ..." not working
February 23, 2013, 02:28:53 pm
I'm trying to batch update work shared addresses.

Problem 1)
I have a profile just with Contact, Master Address Belongs to, Primary
then do a search, select Batch Update, select the right profile and the batch update screen shows as expected
Then edit the Master Address field - not sure what this should be, but guessing cid of the relevant organisation
It then says the updates are done ... but looking at the contacts shows no changes.

Problem 2)
The previous profile was for Primary address.  If I use Work address instead, when I select the profile for batch update I get a page showing: "Sorry but we are not able to provide this at the moment. DB Error: syntax error Return to home page."

This is happens on the demo sandbox sites for both 4.2.8 and 4.3

Is this the right way to update a set of contacts with a shared address?  Does anyone have this working?

thanks

I'm not very sure if batch update is smart enough to do the right thing for shared addresses

would be great if you can take a look at the code and propose some patches to fix this issue

See http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-12259

Fixed for now by removing Master Address Belongs To from list of fields available to profiles
