How does one export a list of parents and children?

That is, I do an advanced search and find the desired records. Then I export the parent and child name by including the following fields:

Individual > First Name
Individual > Parent of > First Name

But this only exports the name of one of the children -- not all.

How can I export the names of all the children?

think you need to think from the childrens end

so get a search result that shows you

1 row for each child - and who their parent is

then in your export you use the 'relationship of .... parent of, display name' or somesuch to get your export.

or try it from the Relationship report

Starting with the children and exporting using the "Individual > Child of > First Name" did indeed list all of the children, but then only listed one of the parents.

The relationship report listed all of the information (all children; all parents), but on separate lines and without other data (like phone number) that could be listed in an export.

I'll need to keep thinking about this; thank you again!

if you are on drupal you could also look at getting this out via a View in case that helps
