PayflowPro Recurring Transactions
February 26, 2013, 08:55:10 am
Hi there,

Is it possible to activate recurring payments with the current PayflowPro plugin?
I know the Paypal API supports it, and i found a post from 2009 where Eileen spoke about enabling that. However, it is now 4 years later.

Any news on that?

I am now on 4.3 a3.

Greetings.

If the plugin does not show that it allow recurring on the civi pages, then support has not been added to it as yet

Hi Donald,

Looking at the plugin file shows the code for recurring contributions in there, so I am a little confused why that is not an option in the setup. The post from Eileen that speaks about that code is almost 4 years old. So I was wondering if anything happened there.

I can try and make it work myself, but i'd rather not ;)

Thanks for your help.

Pretty sure I was funded to start looking into that but only up to a limit. As I recall the code you see allows the creation of recurring contribution profiles but not the updating of CiviCRM based on the outcome of the transactions.

Hi Eileen,

Thanks for the reply. That's not good news. Unfortunately we are a non-profit organisation, otherwise we would fund that to continue ;)
It seems quite difficult to find anything that handles Payflow (without coding it oneself).

So there is no continuation planned for this part of the plugin?

Cheers.

No, I haven't heard of anyone wanting to fund the rest. On the bright side some of the work done by Circle Interactive in the meantime should make it easier to complete when someone does want to fund it

Just for information's sake, how much would still be required ... in case somebody would fund it?

of course that is above our means, but maybe somebody with funds reads this and belief it to be a worthy cause :)

Has Circle Interactive made this part of their solution?

No, they improved the underlying infrastructure for payment processors that, like this one, need to be triggered by a cron. I haven't worked with it since they did it but it was one of the challenges that needed to be figured out. Who knows - it might be rather quicker (read cheaper) than my guesstimate.
