Sage Payment Solutions Extension (Not SagePay)?
February 26, 2013, 09:01:02 am
Hello all,

My client has a preexisting relationship with Sage Payments, which I just found out is different from SagePay, and therefore the extension that already exists is not compatible.  Does anyone know of an extension for "the other Sage"?

My client is a very low-budget nonprofit, as they all are, and probably cannot afford to develop their own.

Any help or sympathy is welcomed.

I suspect your best short-medium term solution would be to switch to a supported payment processor like paypal / google / authorize.net

Thanks -- working with them on that. They say Sage gave them a sweet deal on transaction fees. I'm skeptical, so have asked for a full workup. Meantime, I'm doing some due diligence to make sure I haven't missed something.

I'm not a developer, but I hire them when needed (and when the budget supports it). Any idea what an extension like this costs to develop and maintain? Looks like the other payment extensions are one or two PHP files, and I suspect the Sage setup might be similar to, say, Auth. Still, I'm not excited about testing the many payment scenarios or supporting it.

Sigh. Another sigh.

the typical estimate is between 10-40 hours depending on how complex the payment processor is and how well documented it is etc
