CRM Only site on Drupal
February 26, 2013, 06:31:00 pm
Hi,

Whilst implementing CiviCRM for both a Solicitor's firm as a Case Management System and for a Charity as a full CRM I found the need to run CiviCRM behind a login page without utiliting the CMS features of Drupal. It became necessary to, therefore, theme the login page of a drupal site, without affecting the theme used by CiviCRM and the rest of the Drupal site.

Thus Portal Theme was born. Portal Theme is a tiny theme for Drupal 7 which themes the login, register and password reset pages. Though I assume most CiviCRM users will in fact have their registration pages disabled if they are placing the entire system behind the login screen.

The implementation requires a number of Drupal Contrib modules and the theme to work correctly but functions as an effective, elegant and highly customisable method of controlling access to your CRM.

More details can be found on the project page at Drupal.org.

I'd appreciate your feedback: drupal.org/project/user/1229360

I'm please to tell you that the Powered by Drupal & CiviCRM tag lines are implemented in this theme with the option to turn them off if required though I do implore users of the theme to leave these in place and spread some CiviPal (CiviCRM + Drupal) love.

I'd really love to see examples of customisations and I'll be adding a few variations to the standard theme vis-a-vis layout and background image options in the coming releases.

Hey,

The theme only covers the user facing pages as once the user logs in the CiviCRM/Drupal theme takes over but I'm working on fleshing out the theme a little more at the moment so I'll bear that in mind.

I'll look at adding those case studies in the next few weeks.

Thanks
MJCO

Hi MJCO - just thought I would say hello :) Where abouts in the UK are you?  Feel free to pop along to the London meet up if you are nearby (or the Manchester or Bristol ones if they are more convenient).

Hey Michael,

Thanks - I'll definitely look at the Bristol meetup in the future.

Appreciate the heads-up :-)
