CiviMember Roles Sync doesn't pick up inherited membership status?
February 27, 2013, 09:40:08 am
I'm attempting to update Drupal users with membership status assigned to CiviCRM contacts via the relationships.

What I want to see is any user with a relationship of "employee of" a member organisation, turn up in Drupal with a valid membership status and the correct role in Drupal that I've associated with valid status.

As an example:

John Smith is an employee of Acme Trading Ltd.

Acme trading is a member; and therefore John Smith is a member too.

When John Smith logs in to Drupal I'd like him to have "member" permissions on the site, allowing hime to access member only content etc.

This works when users register using the profile I set up for this purpose. But is seems NOT to work when I create relationships with members via the CiviCRM interface, and subsequently perform a manual sync.

Am I missing a step here?

I'm running CiviCRM 4.1.3 and Drupal 7.
