I have imported a list of contacts (Name, Email, address, etc). I would like to bulk update all of these accounts with a trial membership. To do this I was going to set the start / end dates, membership type using the bulk update with profiles function as explains in the everyday tasks secions of the book.

I have a membership profile setup with start, end and membership type similar to the image in the book for this function.

The problem I am having is when I select the contacts I want to bulk update, this membership profile is not available in the profile dropdown on the Batch Profile Update for Contact page.

Any ideas?

i don't think you will be able to 'update' a membership if it doesn't exist

just export the Internal ID of your contacts, then create a csv with your membership type/dates etc - then Import Memberships.
