Joomla 2.54 CIVICRM 4.26

Hi guys, i have a slight problem I can't figure out with profiles on contribution pages.

Profile Name: Club profile

1) All profile fields are public pages so there is no issue there
2) All profile fields are contact fields basically address webpage etc.

Then when i go to the club (orgaization subtype) contribution membership page and try to select a profile no problem

HOWEVER
as soon as i add the field organization name to the club profile the ability to select that profile in the contribution it is not an option!

SO! What i did was take the organization name out of the profile go into the contrib page and select the club profile, then i went to club profile and added organization name and all was right with the world.

Is this normal?  Why can't I combine organization fields in with contact fields and have everything work as normal?  Sometimes the contrib page would work for renewing but new clubs would get the error club subtype does not match.

If i remove the organization name i can take contributions but when i add that I cannot take a contribution for a new club.
However when i create a membership it makes an INDIVIDUAL membership instead of a Club Membership

Are you using 'on behalf of' for the contribution page - if so it should give you an Organisation Profile which is where you want your Org fields

No but then i tried to use on behalf of but when i added a few custom fields to the on behalf of profile like instructor name etc that profile disappeared from the "on behlaf of " dropdown.  The only profile remaining in there is the "new organization" profile.  I feel that on behalf of is the way to go but im not sure why i can't select the "on behalf of" profile now that i added a few custom fields to it.

You need to be checking what your 'custom fields' are set up for.

I expect the 'on behalf of' profile will only allow custom fields set up for Organisations (or possibly Contacts)

This is crazy.  I made a copy of the "new organization profile"  it was available to select on behalf of profile.  I added 6 fields to it and it disappeared.  Then I disabled them one by one and it still wasn't able to be selected despite the new profile only having one field "organization name"

What am I missing?

All the fields are set to public as well.

I've figured it out!

Basically if you copy the profile or modify the profile for new organization or on behalf of organization you CANNOT remove the organization name or email field or change the email field to anything like work or home.

If you do then the whole profile gets disqualified.

That is it.

you don't need to be setting fields to 'public' - it is better not to when you just want them in profiles for the user to fill in

Can you reproduce the same thing on our sandbox server. If so, please give us the steps to reproduce. Definitely should be fixed
