Problem viewing the Contact file -> Activities

Hi!
I'm using CiviCRM 4.2.7 on Joomla 2.5.9 and I'm having this troube:
When I enter my contact I can see Summary, Contributions, ... , I see also Activities with the number of activities related to me. If I click on it, I see the list and everything is fine.
If I take an activity from the list or I take a new one (supposing it is a "phone call") and I assign it to another contact, the list of the activities disappear from my contact file, and it prompts "Processing...". When I set the filter, and I choose just a specific type of activity, I can see the list of those activities that are not being assigned to other contacts. In this case, if I select "phone calls" from the filter list, I don't see anything, but if I select "meetings" I see all the "meeting" activities correctly. If I go to the table "civicrm_activity_assignment" and I clean the row, than I see everything again but, of course, the activity is not assigned anymore.
Can anyone help me solving this issue, please?

can you try and reproduce this issue on our demo servers. That will give us a better idea if its a bug with the system or a config issue on your side

I tried now on joomla.demo.civicrm.org from the admin panel. I created two new accounts, but if I go on the "demo" account either on the other two I created, I see the number of the activities next to the link on the contact file, but when I click on it, there's nothing on the list. Actually, seems to be the same problem I have, though in the demo version I can't view the full list of activities as I can do as super admin on my site.
There's any info I can give you to go deeper?
