Bulk Data Entry profiles, add contribution custom field to membershp profile?

Testing out the Bulk Data Entry functionality - which rocks if your org enters a lot of offline contributions and/or memberships – but have some questions about the reserved profiles. There are separate profiles for contribution and membership bulk entry (Membership Bulk Entry and Contribution Bulk Entry).

When I go to add fields to the Membership Bulk Entry profile, some contribution fields are available like Contribution Type and Premiums, great! But our membership entry workflow requires we enter data for other contribution fields including some custom fields.

I assume that presenting contribution fields under the "Membership" selection when editing profiles will require some custom work, perhaps as an extension? Can someone point me in the right direction here?

Jason - I discussed this with Kurund and Lobo and we think it's a useful addition for core. Kurund also said he did not think it would be possible to do solely as an extension (but this was based on a fairly quick code review - so not definitive). In order to keep the impact limited to the Batch Data Entry function - we would definitely want to over-ride the existing form rule which prohibits mixing contribution and membership profile fields solely for the reserved "Membership Bulk Entry" profile.

We think it's between a 25-40 hour project. Let me know if you want to discuss having the core team do the implementation. If you want to work on a patch on your end - best to jump on IRC and hookup w/ Kurund (he is most familiar w/ that code).
