Register an existing contact for an event - profile info missing

Sorry if this has been addressed, but I didn't know how to search for it.

We have a conference coming up with a profile that contains custom data fields.  People registering themselves see the data fields with no problem.

But if we search for an existing contact and then choose to register them for a new event, all the custom data fields are missing.

Any idea why that might be?

sounds like it relates to the type of Custom Fields, are they for
- contacts
- individuals
- participants
- something else

if they are Participant fields, then yes you should see them when you do a back end registration as part of the Participant form

If they are Contact/Individual fields, then they will either be on the Contact Summary page or on a Tab depending on how you set them up.

if none of the above makes sense or applies in your case, can you pls attach some screenshots of the Profile and Fields in question
