I'm using CiviCRM 4.2.8 and I'm having the same problem as

and I *think* I might know what's going on. I have one reminder set for 3 days before the membership expires. No problem there.

I have a second reminder that was set for 2 weeks after the membership end date, repeating every 2 weeks until 1 month after the membership end date. (The goal was 2 reminders at 2 weeks after and 4 weeks after the membership expired.)

Some members have kept getting reminders every 2 weeks (and not everyone gets them at the same time). I *THINK* CiviCRM missed the fact that they've renewed (one online, the rest renewed "manually" in the back office) and is now sending reminders until 1 month after the post-renewal membership end date.

I'm unsure where in the logic it's missing the fact that the membership status is now "Current." For now, I'm not going to use the repeating feature.
