I don't see another thread for this, please point me there if I have missed it.

In our emailed invoices, the membership start and end dates for a new member that chose to pay by check (so they not yet marked paid) is '-' and for renewal memberships it is last period.  Since this is an invoice, and they are not paying in arrears, the date should be for the period of the membership, ie: the current period starting this year.  How can this be corrected?  Our members are confused.

Try to check Timezone in php.ini

Civicrm uses that timezone

Here are timezones for your info:

Thanks for the reply, but I am not able to understand what the timezone has to do with the year.  Can you please explain?

Have you check the timezone of your CRM?

What I meant was that I could understand if the date was off by a day, then the timezone might relate to that, but because we are off a whole year, I wouldn't think that the timezone would matter.

Hi - it may help others investigate if you can set up some examples on Demo though obviously you can't show the receipt outputs which may be a blocker in doing so.

In theory if the Membership has not been 'paid for' then it has not 'started' and hence the date will be blank.
Am sayng this as just working through a renewal process for an organisation - we have had to insert an "if Pay Later then your 'end date' will not be updated until payment has been completed'

guess the same could be said for new members

not sure how much that helps - i just tested a new one and the 'end date' shows nothing, which is same as you are describing

you may get some advice on how to 'fix' this but currently i think it works as intended
