Hide Website (or Phone or Email, etc.) Type in Directory Search Results?
March 13, 2013, 06:11:09 pm
Hi guys,

??? I think I'm missing something obvious here, but is there a way to hide or suppress the Type field (for website, phone, email, etc.) from showing on a directory listing? I looked through the profile that feeds the directory, and didn't see any sort of option. Here's an example:

https://www.shorelinechamber.com/index.php?option=com_civicrm&task=civicrm/profile&Itemid=176&_qf_Search_display=true&qfKey=bd29971f1389b0609f8e57568d9218ee_5657

Note that after the website url on various listings, it says '(Home)' or '(Work)' or whatever. This also appears on the record detail page when you click view. It's not really useful information to the outside world, and in fact could cause some confusion with the particular constituency involved.

As always, any advice greatly appreciated!

Cheers!
dz Chris

PS: Joomla 2.5.9 and CiviCRM 4.2.7  :)

Ha,

I sort of figured out a fix to my particular need: I went to Administer>Custom Data and Screens>Dropdown Options>Website Types (I knew I was missing something obvious!!!), and just disabled all the website types, since they aren't relevant to this particular database.

I guess the question remains, though, when it is necessary to have the types in the back-end, is there a way to suppress them from showing on the front-end?

Thanks!
dz Chris
