How to specify profiles when using the Register New Participant form

When I go to this link, it displays a list of custom fields but not all of the fields are used for the event. Ideally I would like to use the same profile I am using for the event.

This is currently not possible via the UI in Civi v4.3 and below. Would be great to fix this for a future release
