Populating profile with currently logged in contact question
March 17, 2013, 02:00:34 pm
I am using Wordpress 3.5.1 and 4.3 b3 and have a question regarding pre-populating profiles with contact information for the currently logged in user.  Specifically, I can't seem to figure out how to do it.  Would someone be kind enough to point me in the right direction?  I would appreciate it.  My end goal is to have a form that a user can use to edit their own data in Civi.  I have created a profile, I believe I placed it into edit mode properly.  I was logged in, but no user data populated the form.

Thank you!

Thanks Lobo!  Works for my site too.  Is there somewhere I can find descriptions of the elements?  I would like to learn more about the page= and q= portions as they are new to me.  Is this a civi or wp thing?  I would prefer to display my Profile in a non standard page.  I am working with a template that for various reasons I am stuck with and I want to display the page in a new, stand alone page.

Is this new syntax?  I can't seem to find references anywhere.

http://www.mysite.com/?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/profile/edit&reset=1&gid=1

works except that it displays in my default page format (which is a post and in columns) but

http://www.mysite.com/civicrm/profile/edit?reset=1&gid=1&id={contact.contact_id}&{contact.checksum}

and variations thereon which I took from various posts such as

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC42/Linking+Profiles

do not display at all.

Many thanks for your hard work and for always taking the time to answer my questions.  I assure you, they are well researched before I ask and when this project converts to a budgeted item from it's current proof of concept, we will participate in a more supportive way.  It is also my habbit to "give back" when I have confidence in my ability and I have been trying to report what ever bugs I find.  My thanks to everyone who supports this amazing product!
