eWay Payment Processor 'One of the parameters (value: ) is not of type integer'

The following steps will reproduce the above error:

Select the Membership Tab of a contact in CiviCRM
Right click on the more button of a membership that is to be renewed and select Renew - Credit Card
This returns the error specified above and the following takes place:

The payment is processed at eWay and the credit card transaction is processed
No Contribution record is created in CiviCRM
The membership record is not renewed

So it would appear that the return string from eWay contains something which is not expected or catered for by the Payment Processor.
