CiviMail and Drupal Multisite
March 19, 2013, 09:46:35 am
Can anyone point me in the direction of instructions to configure CiviMail in a Drupal Multi-site setup?  I have multiple domains running in the 'sites' directory of a primary drupal installation, and each has their own instance of civicrm.  I'd like to configure civimail for these domains, but am not sure of the best practice in doing so.  Currently, each site sends individual mails fine using mail(), but viewing the original of a mail sent to a gmail account shows that it originates from my primary domain and that there is an 'x-authentication-warning' when apache sets the sender to the email sending domain using -f.

Any suggestions?

I dont think there are any instructions for this as yet. Would be great if you can start writing notes and updating a wiki page as you go about doing it

All information that civimail uses in sending out mailings is configurable and can be set differently for each site. So I would get it to work nicely on one site first before trying the other sites

Darn, I'd be happy to contribute but I'm very much an amateur - I was hoping someone had gone through this before.  I'll keep notes, and if I can figure it out I'll put them up as a wiki page.

I ended up just using Google Apps as a outgoing server and return channel, as per the instructions here: http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC40/Step-by-step+Return+Channel+on+Drupal+-+Google+Apps+-+CentOS

It appears to work fine, despite the 2000 messages/day limit.
