Fiscal Year Reflection
March 20, 2008, 01:03:07 pm
I am just wondering where the new fiscal year setting in Global Settings gets reflected?

I know that it is reflected in YTD on donations, but it doesn't look like it affects the membership dashboard. For example, changing the demo fiscal year setting from Jan 01 to July 01 shows no difference in the CiviMember dashboard YTD calculations.

Thanks!

I'm pretty sure it was only implemented for the contributions dashboard and the contact contribution tab. Does it make sense for your clients / use cases to have it affect membership, event dashboards (and other places ??). If so, can you describe a bit more what the rationale for this is - and then try to solicit some feedback for other folks who are using this feature as to whether this is a general need.

The interest is because membership is a paid service; thus, my client wants to be able to track membership signup (payment) to the fiscal year calendar. So the dashboard could ideally reflect that. Right now the membership area is the main concern, but events would be nice if they followed it as well. I was just figuring that if the setting was there, it should be able to be applied across the board.

I will make another post to try and drum up other feedback...
