Can't edit search criteria for a smart group based on an Include/Exclude Search

I've observed this in 4.3.beta3 and can reproduce on the Drupal 7 sandbox.

. Create a smart group based on an 'Include/Exclude Search' custom search (I selected 1 group to include and 1 group to exclude)
. via Manage Groups view the contacts in that smart group
. click on Edit Search Criteria

There are no groups listed in the right-hand multiselect boxes that show the groups included or excluded. I haven't tested whether this affects the tags as well.

hey ken:

can u please file an issue for this one and the warning (same issue is fine). We'll fix it for next beta release

It is the responsibility of the custom search developer to set the right defaults, i suspec most/all custom searches do not do this :(
