Error When Submitting CiviContribute - CiviCRM-001
March 23, 2013, 03:11:16 pm
Many if not most users attenpting to use our site are getting the following error (screenshot attached also).  This is a CiviContribute page, which is attached to CiviMember.  Whether or not the Payment Processor is involved (no cost registration, or paid contributions for membership), the error appears most of the time.  The CiviMember data does through, but the error appears. Any help appreciated.  The message says something about the BaeURL, but I do not know how to fix this, and cannot control whether the user comes in via a www, or not.  Site URL is http://www.ceha.org

Hi there,

You can change your base URL in civicrm.settings.php.  The instructions for moving to a new server have some helpful info for that:
http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC42/Moving+an+Existing+Installation+to+a+New+Server+or+Location

Also, you CAN control whether users come in on the www. or not - assuming your web server is Apache, you can use rewrites to handle this.  It's really outside the scope of this forum to handle URL rewrites, but here's the Apache documentation, and the example they use covers that exact situation:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.0/misc/rewriteguide.html

Hope this helps!
Jon

Thank you so much for the advise.  I will try each/all of those and reply how things go.
