Error Upgrading to 4.3 beta4
March 27, 2013, 08:19:42 am
I was upgrading a test site from 4.3 beta1 to 4.3 beta4 and got the following error. I am using Wordpress 3.5.1 as my CMS. There was also a table with more detail (see attached screen shot). Not sure if it is on my end or a bug but I thought I would pass it on.

URL error show on is <mysite>/admin.php?page=CiviCRM&q=civicrm/upgrade/queue/runner&reset=1&qrid=CRM_Upgrade

Just to update, I reset my dB from a backup and tried again with the same error. I have upgraded a couple other installs. One from v4.2.7 to v4.3b4 no isssues and the other was from v4.3b1 to v4.3b4 no issues but I did upgrade to beta 3 first.

This may just be a problem with that particular install.

i think this might be a bug between a 4.3 -> 4.3 upgrade. checking and we'll fix if needed

Need to fix for the case where site was a 4.3 install from scratch.
http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-12243

Fix will be in beta5 release out today or tomorrow.

Perhaps this might be related ... I installed Drupal 7.21 plus the Views and Ctools modules. I then attempted to run the civicrm installation for version 4.2.8 according to the instructions here (most up-to-date I could find):

http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC41/Drupal+Installation+Guide+for+CiviCRM+4.1+-+Drupal+7

and got this error:

"Error message Installation failed! See the log below for more information.
civicrm

Error installing / updating
File Transfer failed, reason: Cannot copy /tmp/update-extraction-77683dcb/civicrm/templates/CRM/Event/Form/ManageEvent/Registration.hlp to /home/creston/public_html/sites/all/modules/civicrm/templates/CRM/Event/Form/ManageEvent/Registration.hlp.
Next steps"

... but there is no log data visible. What is strange is that according to the Drupal modules report it looks like CiviCRM is indeed installed.

This is a completely fresh installation of CiviCRM with nothing at all edited since the Drupal installation. (Not wanting to side-track you with 4.3 development, this is the only topic/thread I could find that seemed relevant and thought there might be a connection.)

What should I do, please? Kinda stuck not knowing if the error message is invalid or if I can proceed as if it's a complete installation and I can proceed safely?
