civicrm membership profile create not working

Hi,

I've created a profile for membership, but its not opening up in create mode as a form. I'm able to preview it and disable it and delete, HTML form snippet and copy profile it.

I'm getting the error when I'm trying to open the profile form using the url

http://localhost/mysite/civicrm/profile/create?gid=18&reset=1&cid=1

error:
Profile search, view and edit are not supported for Profiles which include fields for more than one record type.


can any one please tell me how to get rid of this..

It's actually blocked in the code. I did look at fixing it so it would work - but I didn't get the impression a lot of people thought it would be useful & I wasn't sure it would work for my use case
