CiviMember and making a drupal user out of it..

Here is the goal.
Make the membership area the only way to register for the site.
So you become a member, pay and then have a drupal user create so you can login and make your membership page?
How do you automate this?
For example the Membership part is easy.  Make an online membership form and the have a profile for the member to fill out so they have a search able page in the site.  But what if they want to change it at some time?  Don't they need to login as a member to edit their page?
Thanks
Al

We are implementing part of the below for 1.8 and is described in the following issue:

http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-1633

Not sure if we'll expose the "Create CMS user" in membership / contribution pages in 1.8, but i suspect we will do so in a future release

as always, if this is high priority for you, contributing a development resource could get it implemented earlier

So this sounds good.  I will look more into it. I plan on getting up to speed on the drupal/civi api as we are going to implement it in our office.
Then I will come back to this and work with the team to move this along.  If I am too late to help I am sure there will be more things.  :)
