CiviEvent problem with Drupal Path Auto
March 28, 2013, 07:55:41 pm
I am not sure if this is a bug or working as expected.

Basically if I create a CiviEvent with a title like "this is my incredibly long event tile that will never end", Civi creates a drupal node that corresponds with this event on the drupal side.

I inherited this website and am not sure if and how CiviEvent knows which type of Node to create and how it does this?  I am also not sure if the original developer wrote some type of hook that builds a civievent is created or edited.

The main issue is that every time I edit an event in Civi, it turns automatic URL generation back on (Pathauto) for the Drupal node and makes the URL "this-my-incredibly-long-event-title-will-never-end".   I can manually override this, however when I edit the Civievent again, it turns the automatic url generation back on and rewrites the URL.  Very frustrating.  Any advice or where to look is appreciated.

I am testing this on the 4.3 release and am not sure if this is expected behavior.

Thanks

Looks like this some custom functionality that is built / specific to your install. CiviCRM does not provide such functionality, hence it is not a bug/ related to CiviCRM. So I would suggest contacting original developer or hiring some consultant to fix it.
