Hi,

Since the 4.3 B5 the label for the field "other amount" has changed to "Additional Contribution". This is not correct, since it really is another amount (actually in our case it is the ONLY input field for the amount).

Is there a setting as to what label gets used there? Technically, when the no price sets or predefined amounts are availabe it should also not read "other amount".

Given this issue tracker, should I assume that Word Replacement now works for this label, in 4.3 B5? http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-12024

The label change in 4.3 B5 was intended to reflect a change in behavior in 4.3 - and should have only happened for online contribution pages that include BOTH a membership signup/renewal option AND a have the 'Contribution Amounts section enabled'.

In 4.2, when both fields were present the behavior was inconsistent and confusing. If Separate Membership Payment was FALSE, then the user was required to enter an amount that was equal to or greater than the selected membership. If Separate Membership Payment was TRUE, then the amount the user entered into the 'contribution' field was an additional contribution on top of the membership fee.

In 4.3, the behavior is consistent regardless of whether Separate Membership Payment is TRUE or FALSE. The amount entered (or selected) in the contribution field is ADDED to the membership fee. Hence, the label 'Additional Contribution' seems clearer.

For pages w/o ONLY contributions (no membership option), the label should still be Other Amount.

Screenshots attached for the 2 "expected" scenarios.

Possibly the 'conversion' of existing labels had unintended consequences for some existing online contribution pages. Can you list the config settings for the page you're referring to, and provide a screenshot here so we can figure things out.

You are correct, word replacement will not affect that label. Work-around is to convert to a price set.

Attached the setup for the "amount" section. The label replacement has done the trick for now.

Do you have the Membership section enabled?
Can you post a screenshot of the contribution page?

By 'label replacement' - do you mean using 'Word Replacement' feature (Administer > Customize Data & Screens > Word Replacements) or did you modify the label in the DB or ??

Hi Dave,

No, we do not use memberships. The contribution page uses the receipt and profile settings (1 profile).
