Organizational memberships
April 12, 2013, 12:20:37 pm
I have a client who has a series of school across the country that are all members of the organization.  I would like to use civimember for registration of the schools ... Can I use civimember to register organizations ?  And Can I use a customized module to create the price of membership - the schools membership fee is based on the amount of students in the school so it may change for each school.
First of all, Can I register organizations in civimember and second how to I do a custom price.
My first thought would be to use something like UC_memberships to allow ubercart to do the math work on the 'products for total membership'    and then once the transaction is completed the membership for the school is activated.

IS this a good train of thought ?  Anyone have any other ways this can be accomplished?
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

You can set up a Contribution page to accept 'on behalf of organisation' and that makes the organisation (school) the 'member'

Can't answer your other ones though can I would be checking if price set could let you set an 'number' field - so they enter eg 76 and it does a 76*'x' to give the total - but can't confirm/recall if latter would work

i would steer clear of bringing uc in for just that purpose
