Civicrm can't find civicrm.settings.php?
April 16, 2013, 07:26:07 am
Greetings,
Yesterday I had upgraded from 4.3 beta (4 or 5) to 4.3.0; things were working it appeared and I continued on api work I was doing.  There wasn't any issues there either so I continued on.
I went this morning back into civicrm on the admin site to get some other things working, and suddenly the site is displaying the following error:

Quote
Oops! - The path for including CiviCRM code files is not set properly. Most likely there is an error in the civicrm_root setting in your CiviCRM settings file (/home/<<myuser>>/<<mysite>>/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm.settings.php).

» civicrm_root is currently set to: .

Needless to day this is quite baffling, as civicrm.settings.php still is in the same location, and points to the correct location ('/home/<<myuser>>/<<mysite>>/wp-content/plugins/civicrm/civicrm/').  Furthermore, the api interactions that I'm doing are still working and reading data.  I tried re-upgrade civicrm and that didn't appear to solve the issue.

Any ideas what could be causing this or what would be the solution?

No, but what you could try would be to backup that file and then install fresh into a separate DB and then compare the new settings file to make sure it's the same.

Hmm, following up - this appears that it was somehow an issue with a plugin I was building on wordpress; for whatever reason when I disabled that the issue goes away;

I'm now slightly trapped where the program is noting that its version 4.3.0 and that a newer version can be downloaded (4.3.0), but thats a minor issue.

Ill just need to adjust how I'm calling the api and I should be all set.

Hi,

THe "need to be upgraded" message error has been fixed, and a new version 4.3.1 has been released already.
