How do I refresh the extension list (in 4.3.0)?

I placed an extension in my extensions directory and went to "Manage Extensions" in the CiviCRM Administration screen and got a lot of PHP warnings like

warning: simplexml_load_string() [function.simplexml-load-string]: Entity: line 92: parser error : Opening and ending tag mismatch: img line 92 and div in /home/questors/public_html/DEV/sites/all/modules/civicrm/CRM/Extension/Browser.php on line 277.
First question: Is it safe to ignore these warnings?
Second question: I also got a pop-up saying
Quote
Failed to read extension (name of missing extension). Please refresh the extension list.
so how do I refresh the extension list?  ???
I tried clearing the Drupal cache in case that might help, but it didn't.   :(
Incidentally, what is the CiviCRM equivalent of Drupal's "Clear cached data"?

There is a way to clean up caches in CiviCRM. It's in the Administer/System Settings menu: "Cleanup Caches and Update Paths"
civicrm/admin/setting/updateConfigBackend?reset=1

On the extension list page you have a button "refresh" too, that, well, refresh the list
