CiviCRM Admin Module
March 24, 2008, 09:21:52 am
I had some requests from clients for an easy access link to the CiviCRM interface in the Joomla admin (rather than navigating through the Components menus), so I created an admin module (for Joomla 1.5). Thought others might find it useful. You can download it here:
http://www.lcdservices.biz/downloads/mod_civicrmadmin.zip

  • Install the module using the Extension install/uninstall tool in Joomla admin
  • Go to Extensions > Module Manager
  • Click "Administrator" link at top of page to view admin modules
  • Find the module and open it. Enable it and publish it to the "status" position. This will put it next to the preview and logged-in user icons in the top right toolbar region.

It's nothing special. Basically it just creates a link to dump people into the CiviCRM home page. But since a lot of users are logging into Joomla primarily to manage member/constituent records in CiviCRM, it's a nice way to give them a quick link to it.
