CiviCRM is what i looking for?
April 19, 2013, 10:42:44 pm
Hi, my name is Jorge Alfonzo and i'm doing research to solve one of my company's problems and I think that CiviCRM is what we need.

The case:

My company is a non-profit theater managed by a bank. But, my company also do the Public Relations to the bank it self. the issue is that the company is often madding events, for the bank or for the theater, and every time they want to do an invitation list they have to start from zero. they have to call the people using a notebook, or an address-book (not very efficient, right?).
So I start researching for a way to manage the contacts in real, updated in real time on a cloud if its possible. with an smart data base how let us to organize the contacts for entity (those are from this bank, those are from that media channel, ...) or for what they do for us ( client, member of the bank, media, VIP, ...). They want the program to be compatible with Outlook that they currently use, the want it to have a free license, to be able to be exported easily to an excel page or book.

this is the program for us?

Sorry if my English isn't that good.

CiviCRM can certainly help you with the problems you describe. I would be careful with the compatibility with Outlook as you are mixing contact and tasks for an individual with contacts and tasks for a whole company. From my experience I always ask lots of questions if people want it to be compatible with Outlook because usually they do not oversee all consequences.

But CiviCRM can manage your contacts, know which contacts are related to the bank or media channel (or both). Also what they do, it has a free license and contacts can be exported to Excel (csv-files)

Good luck!

there's a limit in the number of contacts CiviCRM can handle?

No, not really. We have customers with 50,000 and with 500. I know there are some sites where there are hundreds of thousands....how many do you think you will need?
