Primary Address indicator incorrect

I have a profile set up for name and address and set that to update the primary address. The primary address is defaulted to main.  I also have a payment processor and it indicates the address same as billing checkbox. If a new person enters info in the form it set's the billing address as the primary address and not the main. Is there a bug with this feature? We want anyone that is entering info into forms to have their main address as their primary, not their billing address.

Yes this has been a bug and it looks like the most recent issue with it was fixed in 4.3.0.
If you are using the profile in a contribution screen you may be affected by this: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-11799

There were some older ones that affected event registrations, for example: http://issues.civicrm.org/jira/browse/CRM-4657
