Database Upgrade script stays at step 1
March 25, 2008, 01:24:12 am
I am trying to upgrade from 1.9 civicrm to version 2.0.1.

Last week I did the same on Linux, no problem.
Today I tried to update at home also under Drupal, but now on a Windows XP.

I am doing the updates from http://wiki.civicrm.org/confluence/display/CRMDOC/Upgrade+Drupal+Sites+to+2.0

No problems till step  7. Run the Database Upgrade script.
I get the good starting screen "CiviCRM 2.0 Upgrade: Step One (Database Cleanup)" but when clicking on "Begin Upgrade", I get the same screen, I stay at step 1. No messages.

I thirst marked in drupal the module civicrm (1.9) as not in use, but to do the upgrade step it is needed, so i tried to put it (2.0) on.
Then I get te error:
Database foutcode: Table 'civicrm.civicrm_component' doesn't exist, 1146
But it is possible to start the updatescript.
I did the same with unmark 1.9 and mark 2.0 with the update on Ubuthu.

Did you check if CiviCRM 1.9 was working properly on Windows XP, before trying upgrade to 2.0  ? For e.g submitting a form ..etc

Yes, before it was good.
I am using drupal 5.7, I have tried to do the update with IE6 and firefox 2, no differences.

I have already installed the dutch language file for civicrm 2.0.
Must I change the sites/default/civicrm.settings?

In the version 2.0.1, I get the following errors by unzipping:
\sites\all\modules\civicrm-2.0.1-drupal.tar.tar: Cannot open  (.\js --> )
\sites\all\modules\civicrm-2.0.1-drupal.tar.tar: Symbolic link points to missing file

maybe related to the error?

I tried to do the update again, no changes, but i noticied that in phpmyadmin i get an error: the tab "Actions" ("handelingen") says that the extra options to work with linked tables are disabled. The reason is that the PMA Database is in error.

I have mysql 5.0.24a, in the documention the error is related with the versions before 4.2. There are 7 tables with MPA in the database phpmyadmin, but there are no records in it. I never missed them when using civicrm or another mysql-database but must this database be filled (with what)?

not sure i understand what you are trying to say.

CiviCRM does not care aout the MPA / PMA tables :) If you are doing an upgrade there should be 100+ tables in your civicrm database starting with civicrm_*

I tried to convert from 1.9 to 2.0.1, but i stay in step 1 off the upgrade script.
I thought maybe the error was in the state of mysql.
I now have installed civicrm from scratch, so no converting data, but starting with the empty database civicrm. That works, i can now use civicrm 2.0.1.

Sorry for posting it in the wrong part of the forum.
