Upgrade to 4.3.1 from 4.3.0 causes CiviDiscount field to disappear.
April 24, 2013, 06:17:25 pm
Just upgraded from 4.3.0 to 4.3.1 and the CiviDiscount field at the top of the form on the Contribution page.  CiviDiscount is at version 2.1 which, according to the Manage Extensions Page, is up to date.

Any thoughts or things you would like me to take a look at and report back?

Splice.

Re: Upgrade to 4.3.1 or 4.3.2 from 4.3.0 causes CiviDiscount field to disappear.

Just upgraded to 4.3.2.  The CiviDiscount entry field still does not appear in either the contribution/membership page or the event signup page.

Is there a new version of CiviDiscount to solve this problem?  We are at version 2.1 which is the latest on the extensions page.

Any help is appreciated.

I am having the same problem on a membership (contribution) page using CiviCRM 4.3.1 and CiviDiscount 2.1. I created a discount code for two of the three membership types and the box to enter the code does not appear.

splice, did you find a solution?

We have a registration event today where we wanted to use a discount code but I ended up having to create a new contribution page instead with the lower rate. Any ideas on another way to address this?

Not sure whats happening or why. At this stage u'll need to debug the code and help see whats happening. please keep us updated on your findings so we can fix any bugs in the main codebase

Strangely enough ... I switched the membership from using a price set to individual prices (CiviDiscount worked again, but the discount was not applied when the final amount was sent to PayPal) and then switched back to using the same price set. Everything is now working again as expected. I have no clue why.

I really don't know how to debug this, but I just upgraded from 4.3.3 to 4.3.4 and the CiviDiscount field disappeared again on the contribution page. I followed these steps and it works like a charm again:

  • Go to Manage Contribution Pages and select the appropriate page
  • Change the Membership Price Set to -none-
  • Select other my old non-price set prices
  • Save

At this point the discount field reappears, but the discounted amount does not go through to PayPal as mentioned in another thread. Then:

  • Change the Membership Price Set back to the original price set
  • Save

Strange, but it worked.
