Event participant Status - Pay Later - Deposit/Pending Issue

Hi, recently upgraded from 3.1.3 to 4.1

Since upgrade we have an issue where a participant chooses Pay Later option, but they are still being counted in event dashboard, and that also means event limits are affected so an event can fill up incorrectly.


I understand workflow should be as follows:

Event registration with Pay Later option results in participant with a status of Pending, this participant is not counted in event totals until status is changed manually or otherwise.

Note that Contribution Status shows pending but Participant Status shows Deposit (see attached image) - is this expected behaviour?

Oh, just found help text on Event Dashboard which says the following:
"'Actual participant count' is displayed for events which use Price Set field(s) to increment the number of participants counted against the event's maximum participant level. For example, someone may select a 'Table for 8' when registering for a fundraising dinner. This registration will increment the 'actual participant count' by 8, even though only one participant record is displayed in search results."

We may have stopped using price sets - is there a reason price sets would behave differently for participant status than Regular Fees?

This is new since the upgrade.

Participant status processor is not enabled

This screen presents the list of scheduled jobs (cron tasks) log entries.
List of log entries for: Participant status processor
Back to Scheduled Jobs Listing
This scheduled job does not have any log entries.

Can you replicate this on our demo ?

If not, you might want to upgrade to latest CiviCRM release (4.3.3)

Its kinda hard for us to support earlier releases.
