Default state for profiles, new individuals?

What would save a *lot* of users a *lot* of time would be the ability set a default city, county, state/province when adding new individuals via Profiles and editing existing Individual records. Perhaps the Civi code sprinters could take a stab at that? Is there already a way to do this in 4.2.8 and newer versions?

You could custom code that with jQuery in an "extra" template file.

Yes, a more proper solution would be nice, but in the meantime, it can be done that way.

Yes, you can set default Country and State via CiviCRM › Administer CiviCRM > Settings - Localization:

http://drupal.demo.civicrm.org/civicrm/admin/setting/localization?reset=1

but not City, AFAIK.

Lobo, thanks for the update, we're still on 4.2.9. Hershel, Localization for States and Provinces does not show States and Provinces in the area for setting that, in the selection list, only Countries, even though I have United States set as the default country. I'm not yet at the level where I can custom code with jQuery.
