I'm not sure MySQL's SUPER privilege is a requirement of CiviCRM, but the ability to create stored procedures is.

Ah, I see: CiviCRM 4.2 and higher require more SQL privileges than past versions or binary logging disabled.

If that's not available to you, you might need to look into alternative hosting environments (either a supported CiviCRM hosting platform or a dedicated server). I think I saw a forum answer by Lobo recently which listed three (or so) good options, and there's a wiki page with many more.

Thanks Chris.

This means that I will need to downgrade to 4.1.6.

Do I have to undo the database-upgrades manualy or can I use the partialy upgraded Database with 4.1.6? (there have been entries in the database after the corrupted installation of 4.3 and the automated Backup of the database failed)

IMO you'd be better off replacing your current hosting setup with one that supports civicrm's requirements.

4.1.6 has published security issues. Unless you can backport the relevant fixes yourself, you probably don't want to be stuck running that version.

Generally speaking you can not use a partially upgraded database as schematic and other changes are incompatible across versions. In most cases, such a DB can't be used with either version. If you have no backup, then undoing all the changes manually may be possible, but it's hard to say.
